On Jan 22nd I was travelling to Virar on a Mumbai local train after nearly 2 years; I was enjoying the ride, the sights, the wind on my face, the greenery, the people, the clouds ; and then these two little girls got onboard. I don't know which station it was as I was lost with my music in my earphones. I suddenly over heard a 'dholak' being played; I looked around she was singing behind me and the other little girl was asking-collecting money from the other passengers.
Banaras is a deeply spiritual place for Hindus and the followers of other Indian Dharmic religions. It is a very sacred place for the Hindus and Sanatam Dharam. It is known as one of the world's oldest living city and it has a history of thousands of years. I had a quick visit to the city in December 2016 and I took this boat ride on very day of arrival. The city looks mesmerizing around the sunset time from the boat. With the sacred water of river Ganga in foreground the city's millions of lights shimmer and reflect beautifully.

A few clips put together to remember the trip by. It was during North Indian winters and in rural Punjab, lush green Punjab. It was refreshing and beautiful.
So Sharmaji junior and Deepa Rani (badi sayani) went to SGNP for a break from the stupid city. It was peaceful and quiet in the jungle. The trip was also supposed to be an opportunity for Sharmaji to figure out if he could shoot parts of his next shortfilm there. Nevertheless it became a nice day-break and we had cucumbers and watermelon (Deepa's watermelon was stolen by a monkey! ) HEHE!
One of the very first, earliest professional gig of mine. I was one of the camera operator in this setup. Anything from front left side of the stage is me.

Early documentary making days. I lost my job at Royal Bank of Scotland for this weekend project.
Just some memories put together.
This was a documentary directed by Onir with the title and the subject of Education and Entertainment or something.
We were shooting for a Bollywood feature film in Cape Town South Africa. The location for the day was an abandoned hostel with 4-5 floors and hundreds of empty rooms. The places had an eerie feel to it. So during lunch break I got the idea to utilize the long corridors. And this was the result. Shot on Iphone.
'Kaarigiri' means the 'Specialist Art' A mobile phone short documentary about the stonemasons I saw working at Elephenta Caves last week. Nothing spectacular, just a few shots of them doing their work .
Early days of excitement and curiosity.
